Marx in the Anthropocene : towards the idea of degrowth communism Kohei Saito
For this month, I chose to recommend Kohei Saito’s book Marx in the Anthropocene for the subject of economics. The book explores the intersection of environmentalism, Marxism, and the pressing challenges of our era. Precisely because Saito links Marx’s theories with all of the problems we face today, from economic inequality, which he predicted, all the way to the destruction of our environment, I find this such a fascinating read and worth highlighting. Saito breaks down Marx’s beliefs and the solutions to the crises we face today in a clear and understandable manner. Through its comprehensible language, Marx in the Anthropocene is an engaging read for anyone interested in economics and ecology.
