Rose plays Julie written and dir. by Christine Molloy, Joe Lawlor

It is difficult to review this movie without giving away too much of the plot. The atmosphere is so unexpected as to send a chill up the spine,  achieved by the incredible lighting on the main character’s face and the empty cold aesthetic that the director of photography infuses in the scenes.

The film unfolds like a Greek tragedy and it is far more complex than the standard psychological drama. The main character Rose has an identity crisis following the tracking of her birth mother. She is very brave in addressing the issues head-on and tries to find her identity under duress.  

I liked the film for the unexpected unfolding of the story, the sharp dialogues and the twists and turns happening until the very end of the intrigue.
