Peace, what’s that? At first glance, the question seems simple. Yet history shows that there is not one single way to define peace. Depending on the historical context, prevailing socio-political values and norms as well as the ideological interpretations of the actors involved, the answers given to this question have differed widely, and even conflicted.
Join curator and historian Mohamed Hamdi for a guided tour of the exhibition Executing Peace and discover how ideas of peace have evolved in Luxembourg. From the French Revolution to the present day, the tour looks at how peace was understood, shaped, contested and, at times, undermined.
