Contents of the collection

The National Library of Luxembourg holds a remarkable collection of artists’ books, bibliophile books and illustrated books, as well as portraits, prints and engravings, including many unique items.

It brings together 233 Luxembourgish artists’ books and approximately 1,300 works created by international artists. The collection includes illustrated poetry books, book objects, conceptual books, as well as books drawn, engraved and designed in their layout by artists.

The iconographic collection also comprises around 3,200 Luxembourgish iconographic documents and some 2,800 prints.

Searching and viewing

You can search for and reserve items from the Iconography Collection via the online catalogue a-z.lu. These rare and valuable documents may be viewed only on site and by appointment, in the Rare Books Reading Room Dr Jean-Claude Loutsch.
