Reading Room
The Reading Room forms the centrepiece of the library. Across its three floors you will find 200,000 documents covering the main fields of knowledge.

Self-service terminals
Discover our loan and return options for a fast, convenient experience. Our self-service terminals in the Reading Room and the outdoor collection point allow you to borrow and return your documents by yourself.

Workspaces
The Reading Room offers different ways of using its resources, from comfortable armchairs to desks with computers. Over the three floors there are also eleven carrels (group study rooms), three soundproof booths and a Music Room.

Rare Books Reading Room
The Dr Jean-Claude Loutsch Rare Books Reading Room is located on the 1st floor of the Reading Room and is easily recognised by its striking red decor.

Media Centre
The Media Centre completes the National Library’s collections with multimedia documents: feature films and documentaries, audiobooks, music and language teaching aids.

Closed Stacks
The closed stacks guarantee that our collections can be permanently preserved.

Bicherbus
Bicherbus resources can be used for further education, leisure reading or to expand cultural horizons.
