• Joining the library

  Signing up for a library card is free of charge for anyone over the age of 14 who would like to join.

• Loans and consultation

  Our resources are available for home loan, on-site consultation or online.

• Interlibrary loans

  If the documents or media that you are looking for are available neither at the National Library nor at any other library in the bibnet.lu network, you can contact the “Interlibrary loans” service.

• Reprographic services

  You can scan, print and copy documents, save them on a USB stick or send them by e-mail.

• Guided tours and educational offer

  The National Library offers guided tours for private individuals and groups through its premises and organises educational activities for school visits.

• Legal deposit

  All publications published in Luxembourg must be deposited with the National Library.

• ISBN, ISSN, ISMN and ISNI

  The BnL acts as the national ISBN agency, the national ISSN agency and the national ISMN agency responsible for assigning an identification number to Luxembourg publications, as well as the ISNI identifier registration agency.

• Persistent identifiers

  The National Library has implemented a persistent identifier system based on the Archival Resource Keys (ARK) format, which ensures that links to Luxembourg’s digital resources always remain reliable and accessible.
