Guided tours
General public
The BnL regularly organises guided tours through its premises.
Clubs and groups
Terms
The National Library offers paid guided tours for clubs and private groups. Tours are only available on designated dates.
- Duration: about 1 hour and 30 minutes
- Language: French, German, Luxembourgish or English
- Group size: 5–20 people
The tour will be confirmed once we have received the signed quote.
Fees
- Group of 5 to 9 people: flat fee of €100
- Group of 10 to 20 people: flat fee of €200
Educational offer
Guided tours for schools
The National Library offers activities for secondary school students aged 14 and above (5e and higher).

- Group size: 10–25 students
- Fees: free of charge
Teachers and managers of Documentation and Information Centres (CDI) interested in organising a visit are invited to contact us as early as possible, as we can organise only a limited number of activities and are often booked several months in advance.
Guided tour
These tours provide an introduction to the missions, resources and services of the BnL. Students will also explore the Reading Room and get a behind-the-scenes look at the library. The tour lasts about an hour and a half.
Upon request, we can organise a presentation of documents from the special collections.
Semi-guided tour
A member of staff provides an introduction to the missions, resources and services of the BnL for 15 to 30 minutes. Afterwards, the class is invited to explore or work in the Reading Room autonomously in small groups for as long as needed. Upon request, we can provide a questionnaire for students to complete.
Please note that during the autonomous visit of the Reading Room, teachers are responsible for ensuring that students respect the house rules. We therefore recommend that several accompanying adults be present.
Courses for teaching staff
The BnL organises training courses accredited by the Institut de formation de l’Éducation nationale.
No training courses are currently scheduled.
