Guided tours and educational offer
The National Library offers a programme of exhibitions, activities and guided tours for associations and groups. It also organises activities for school classes as well as training courses.
Guided tours
General public
The BnL regularly organises guided tours through its premises. Participants receive information about the concept, architecture, missions and functioning of the library. They also have the opportunity to visit, exclusively, the closed storage spaces.
Clubs and groups
The National Library offers free guided tours to groups and clubs. Visits are only given upon prior request and subject to availability.
Practical information
- Duration: about 1h30
- Languages: French, German, Luxembourgish or English
- Group size: 8-25 people
Visits can be adapted to suit groups.
School groups
The National Library offers educational activities for secondary school students (5e and up). Teachers and managers of Documentation and Information Centres (CDI) who wish to use this offer can choose between the following options:
- Guided tour lasting approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes
- Introduction to documentary research on a-z.lu
- Introduction to documentary research on a-z.lu, version adapted for the TRAPE
The different options can be combined and adapted according to the needs of the groups. Activities for schools are organised only on prior request and according to our availability.
trainings
The National Library organises continuing education courses for teachers in secondary education. The courses are approved by the IFEN. They take place at the BnL and are complemented by a guided tour.
