15 students complete the BnL Summer School 2025

The BnL summer training program

From 4 to 6 August, the National Library of Luxembourg organised a new edition of its Summer School, specially designed for advanced students and young professionals in library science, with a focus on cataloguing.

Over the course of these three days, participants gained an in-depth overview of standards, tools, and best practices in cataloguing. The focus was on their application within the context of a library network and an integrated library management system.

Through workshops and exchanges with experts, they had the opportunity to combine theory and practice. A visit to the Bicherbus mobile library and a behind-the-scenes guided tour of the BnL complemented this immersive experience.

In addition to the training modules, informal networking opportunity allowed for exchanges with professionals in the field, notably during a dinner held at the BnL.

With this initiative, the BnL reaffirms its commitment to raising awareness among younger generations about the challenges faced by libraries and to encouraging careers in the sector.
