The National Library of Luxembourg (BnL) announces the publication of a list of Luxembourgish works deemed out of commerce, now available on the website of the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). This initiative aims to enhance access to these works.
The list is published on the EUIPO portal for six months, during which rights holders can oppose the inclusion of their works. Otherwise the digitised works will be made available on eluxemburgensia.lu after six months and become accessible remotely beyond the BnL Reading Room.
Each year, the BnL and Luxorr (Luxembourg Organization for Reproduction Rights) will expand this collection by adding new titles under the out-of-commerce publication license. Following another six-month notice period, these works will become accessible under the same framework.
This initiative is part of a partnership between the BnL and Luxorr, ensuring wider dissemination of these publications through the eluxemburgensia.lu platform. By making forgotten works available to the public once more, this project contributes to the preservation and promotion of Luxembourg’s cultural heritage.
Readers can explore the full list of titles on the EUIPO website and learn more about the process on the eluxemburgensia.lu portal.
