The BnL continues the digitisation of the Tageblatt with the online release of issues from 1951 to 2014

The National Library of Luxembourg has made Tageblatt editions from 1951 to 2014 available online via the eluxemburgensia.lu portal.

Founded in 1913 in Esch/Alzette, the Tageblatt holds an important place in the history of the Luxembourgish press. Rooted in the labour and trade union movement, the daily newspaper accompanied the country’s political, social, cultural and sporting developments for more than a century. Over the decades, the newspaper also distinguished itself through its commitment to Luxembourg’s cultural and literary life. Figures such as Jacques Poos, Alvin Sold and the cartoonist Albert Simon left a lasting mark on the newspaper’s editorial history.

This new online release represents a major enrichment of the digitised press collections freely accessible to the public. In total, 19,248 issues representing 699,786 pages and 9,045,139 articles have now expanded the content already available on the portal.
