2,700 further books digitised and made available

The National Library of Luxembourg (BnL) has digitised and made available 2,700 titles on eluxemburgensia.lu. However, these may only be viewed in the Reading Room.

These publications, most of which remain commercially available, include works published in Luxembourg as well as titles issued abroad with a connection to Luxembourg.

In accordance with the applicable legislation, the BnL is required to restrict access to these digitised documents to its reading room. This arrangement forms part of the legal framework that allows libraries to provide access to protected works within a dedicated space, without infringing copyright law.

This online provision has been carried out in collaboration with Luxorr (Luxembourg Organization for Reproduction Rights) and the Fédération des éditeurs luxembourgeois. It contributes to enhancing the accessibility, visibility, and preservation of a transnational heritage.
