Press release
The National Library of Luxembourg is pleased to announce that the Mémorial A and Mémorial C are now available online on the eluxemburgensia.lu platform. This initiative marks an important step in the preservation and public distribution of the history of Luxembourg’s legislative acts. 650,000 digitised pages have been added to eluxemburgensia.lu.
The Mémorial A, the official journal Mémorial du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg, contains all legislative and regulatory acts as well as other acts concerning the general public. It is published in French and German in accordance with the Royal Grand Ducal Decree of 22 October 1842, which regulates the method of publication of laws. Now online, users can delve into Luxembourg’s past and discover the strategic choices that have shaped the country.
The Mémorial C concerns commercial companies and associations. It has been published since January 1961. The BnL has digitised the editions from 1961 to 1995, which can now be viewed online, while those from 1996 onwards can be accessed on the Legilux website. Given that the Mémorial C (1961-1995) contains a great deal of personal information and in accordance with the GDPR, the BnL has only indexed the article titles. In addition, the PDF files of the various issues cannot be downloaded by users.
The BnL has also uploaded the Mémorial administratif de la Province de Luxembourg and the Recueil spécial.
