The Alphonse Foos archive now accessible on a-z.lu

The Cedom has just added the composers’ archives of Alphonse Foos to the a-z.lu portal. It is the first of the Cedom’s holdings to be catalogued according to the RNAB standard (Ressourcenerschließung mit Normdaten in Archiven und Bibliotheken), a system widely used in literary archives.

Thanks to this international standard, individual documents from the archive can now be searched and reserved online. The collection includes, among other items, music scores, correspondence, biographical documents and various collector’s items relating to Alphonse Foos, who was also known as a literary critic and as a teacher of music and German in Esch/Alzette.

This online release marks a significant step in the Cedom’s ongoing effort to make Luxembourg’s musical heritage accessible.
