On 9 December 2023, the National Library is offering visitors its surplus books in exchange for a small gesture benefiting the restoration of documents from its special collections.

At the end of 2016, the BnL began gradually digitising its collection of Luxembourg posters and publishing them online. Unfortunately, many posters are in bad condition due to damage or wear and tear and they need restoring before they can be digitised and made accessible to the public. By making a donation in exchange for the books, you can support this project.

Join us in the National Library’s foyer on Saturday, 9 December from 10.00 to 17.00. Browse through hundreds of Luxembourgish and non-Luxembourgish publications of all genres and restock your private library!

Examples of posters to be restored

  1. Affiche pour la redoute annuelle de l’ASSOSS (Association générale des étudiants luxembourgeois, 1912-1968) le 31 mars 1962 au Cercle municipal.
