Press release
The Centre d’études et de documentation musicales (Cedom), which is dedicated to collecting, preserving and making available Luxembourg’s manuscript and printed musical heritage, informs that the first three inventories of its music archive collections are now accessible online. These inventories specifically concern the Pierre Nimax sen., Jean-Pierre Kemmer and Lou Koster collections, which form an integral part of the many archive collections linked to the country’s musical life and history.
The inventories are presented in the form of lists containing, among other things, the title of the work, the authors / composers / arrangers, the date of creation and the format. To view these lists, simply search a-z.lu using the keyword “Fonds”, followed by the surname of the composer in question. All the inventories can be searched using the keyword “Fonds musicaux” and by activating the “Archival collections” filter in the “Type of publication” section.
These first inventories will be followed by others. The online availability of music archive inventories underlines the Cedom’s ongoing commitment to preserving and promoting Luxembourg’s rich musical heritage.
