reźyseria Małgorzata Szumowska ; scenariusz Michał Englert, Małgorzata Szumowska« Ein Polizist (Janusz Gajos), mit verstorbener Frau und essgestörter erwachsener Tochter (Justyna Suwała) trifft jeden Tag auf brutal zugerichtete Tote: ein Selbstmord am Strick, ein auf der öffentlichen Toilette geborenes und zerstückeltes Baby. Den Körper der Tochter findet der Polizist abends nackt vor dem Klo, zwischen Erbrochenem und Pillen. Er selbst trinkt zu viel Alkohol, wofür ihn Ola, die Tochter, verabscheut. In der Klinik für Essstörungen, in die er sie fährt – das fünfte Mal – machen klapperdürre Mädchen Schrei-, Tanz-, und Körpertherapie. Der Körper – Body – taucht im Film also in verschiedensten Formen auf. Tot, lebendig, kaputt, schwach, stark und transzendent: letzteres in Form der Körpertherapeutin Ania (Maja Ostaszewska), die als Medium auch Tote wieder sprechen lässt. Jeder ist irgendwie stark und schwach zugleich, jeder kämpft. So ist in Body das Leben. Schwierig, schmutzig, traurig, zum Lachen oder: lustig. Ciało wurde auf der Berlinale mit dem Silbernen Bären für die beste Regie ausgezeichnet. »

Le lendemain, une policière est tuée dans la rue. Le 9 janvier, une nouvelle attaque vise des juifs de France. Quatre otages sont assassinés. Ce film est un hommage à toutes ces victimes. »

Kill your darlings

The film follows a young Allen Ginsberg (Radcliffe) while he is attending Columbia University in 1944 and shows how the relationship he formed with his charismatic fellow student Lucien Carr (DeHaan) would pave the way for the Beat Generation of the 1950s. Through his friendship with Carr, who is the unwilling love interest of the much older David Kammerer (Michael C. Hall), Ginsberg is introduced to other aspiring writers William Burroughs (Ben Foster) and Jack Kerouac (Jack Huston) and the four young men take a hedonistic foray through New York seeking out inspiration while experimenting in all aspects of their lives. Unaware of the tumultuous path they have created for themselves, a difficult and unforeseen event will bring the group even closer together and mould them into the best minds of their generation. »

Encouraged by his wife Lady Macbeth (Cotillard), his ambition becomes all-consuming and he kills the reigning monarch, King Duncan (David Thewlis). But Macbeth becomes a tyrannical ruler, filled with anxiety over who he can trust... Adam Arkapaw's cinematography gives this adaptation a moody atmosphere. You can almost feel the cold of the mists and mud and isolation in the countryside and castles of Scotland. The performances are uniformly magnificent. Michael Fassbender is unquestionably one of the finest actor in cinema right now. He possesses exactly the kind of presence to bring an epic literary stalwart to life. The gravitas he brings to this interpretation of Macbeth and his turbulent journey from hero on the battlefield to shuddering, conscience-battered king is outstanding. Marion Cotillard is just as good as the venomous Lady Macbeth. »

I capture the castle

The film is shot with that green British palette that makes everything look damp and makes us imagine the sheets will be clammy. The countryside is unspeakably picturesque, and the girls flourish here. Cassandra’s frequent narration – taken from her diary entries – introduces us to her shambling, bohemian family: the father, a novelist who, 10 years on, has yet to follow up his one, wildly successful book; the stepmother, an artist given to stripping naked in the countryside in an effort to contact her muse; a younger brother; and an older sister named Rose (Byrne), a ravishing redhead going a little batty from their intensely isolated, intensely impoverished existence at a crumbling Suffolk castle. That all changes when two American brothers – the plainspoken, cowboyish Neil and the elder, more serious-minded Simon – stumble onto their property one rainy night. »
